Netflix chooses Mexico as its Latin America's headquarters

Netflix chose Mexico City as its headquarters in Latin America. The São Paulo office will now have to report to the Mexican unit, but will continue to be responsible for operations in the region called SoLA, which, in addition to Brazil, also includes Argentina and Chile.

At this first moment, according to the company, nothing changes in terms of staff. According to Bloomberg, however, professionals in the areas of programming, marketing and advertising are expected to move to Mexico City soon.

The company arrived in Latin America in 2011 and has since seen the number of users in countries in the region more than triple to 31.4 million, according to the company’s last Q4 results.

“With Mexico City as a base, we will be even closer to the creative community, as well as subscribers across the region, as we continue to invest in the best content, loved in Latin America and around the world,” said the company in a statement sent to LABS.
