The current leader of the streaming industry is the only one that was prohibited by Disney

Netflix is banned from Disney TV channels
  • At first, Disney had banned any other streaming TV ad to focus on Disney+ promotion, but it stepped back of the decision and reaffirmed the partnership with other brands, except for Netflix
  • 13% of the total amount of $ 99,2 million that Netflix had invested in TV ads in the U.S last year was addressed to Disney channels

Disney looks really committed to steal the crown from Netflix in the streaming market and is using all the weapons available to do it. From now on, ads from Netflix are banned from any TV channel of Disney, according to the Wall Street Journal. At first, Disney had sent a statement for its employees banning ads from all Disney+ competitors on the company’s channels, but it stepped back from the decision and reaffirmed the partnership with other brands, except for Netflix.

According to the Wall Street Journal, 13% of the total amount of $ 99,2 million that Netflix had invested in TV ads in the U.S last year was addressed to Disney channels. But it seems that the investment was not enough to keep Netflix spot on the Disney programming.

Disney+ will be launched in November in the U.S with the monthly cost of $7 and it has already an official date to reach the Brazilian audience: the new streaming will be available in the country in 2020, but the price wasn’t announced yet.
