Brazilian decacorn Nubank announced in a press release this Tuesday (24) a BRL 20 million contribution to assist their customers impacted by the coronavirus financial effects.

“Many teams here at Nubank are working day and night to develop more flexible alternatives for this very difficult time, including with reduced interest rates and extension of due dates,” stated the company. “However, there is no one-size-fits-all solution: we need to understand the specific situation to see which is the best we can offer to that customer depending on whether they have a personal loan or just a credit card bill, if they are having trouble paying the invoice at a terminal or if their income has been compromised.”

In the press release, Nubank explained that the contribution, about BRL 20 million, comes mainly from its marketing budget and other efficiency gains, and it will be used to offer services and products to customers who need more support. “Services and products will only be released during the assistance – via our official channels.” In the moment of the communication with clients, Nubank’s teams will be able to detect whether there is anything that would help the customer – and thus activate one of their partners through credits and vouchers for food and other basic items, deliveries, online medical and psychological assistance and pet shop deliveries.
