- Bolsonaro talked about new names for the position
- The privatization plans will continue according to the president
The president of Correios, the Brazilian Post Office, General Juarez Aparecido de Paula Cunha announced today that he is leaving the post through a post on his Twitter profile this Monday (19).
“Dear friends! Today I leave Correios. It was 7 months of joy, we obtained excellent results, led the company’s recovery and made great friends. Positive balance and the certainty that you will continue the mission“, he wrote.
Cunha was fired in public by President Jair Bolsonaro in the last week for “acting as syndicalist” but the official announcement had not been published until today.
Last Tuesday, in an official event, Bolsonaro said that a new name is already in discussion. “Some names are showing up. The new president will accomplish his role, and the government still have the green light to privatize the company“, he said.
