Airbnb announced a new batch of Online Experiences, a line the company launched in April and has since become its fastest-growing product. Starting this week, the firm will expand this collection with experiences in partnerships with the Olympics, Paralympics, Broadway shows, IGLTA for Pride Week and others – all hosted on the platform.

With the pandemic and social distancing measures, the travel was severely hit, so Airbnb migrated the platform’s Experiences from in-person to online. Through them, guests can access hosts, interact with people and travel virtually, without leaving their homes.

  • Broadway at Home

  • TikTok

TikTok and Airbnb will launch a series of Online Experiences with TikTok Creators representing the culinary, arts, dance and comedy digital world. TikTok stars who we will be launching with include: Bonnie Rodriguez, The McFarland Family and Doctor Austin Chiang.

  • Global Pride

In celebration of Pride, Airbnb will create a virtual Pride Week led by LGBTQ+ hosts. In addition to this, IGLTA (International LGBTQ+ Travel Association), the IGLTA Foundation and its members will offer Online Experiences that will continue celebrating the LGBTQ+ community all year round.

  • Local Communities

Airbnb is working with governments and tourism agencies to help support economic growth and cultural exchange that benefit local citizens and small businesses.
